Just ran my pc back to Windows 7
Long story short, I learned my pc will not support drivers for Win10 so that might be causing a lot of problems, eg, Win10 is all about serving out more ads and streaming stuff so it's looking for those drivers that'll help 'em do that but I don't have them and therefore my pc can't deliver. (don't have a touchscreen either)
Back to 7, so far so good, got three years until Microsoft stops supporting 7. Kick the can down the road.
In other trouble-shooting news, had a switch panel, one is a downstairs cross-over, the other a mid-level crossover the third, uh, blows the circuit. So I just left it all this time. Dug into it finally, wondering what the heck is it a switch for? an attic fan I don't know about? Hmmm black on one side, white on the other...it looks like a switch designed to .. blow a circuit! hot to return, genius!
Yes, end of story, I guess, but it bugs me, what were they really trying to do, what's the real story here? Thinking maybe they were supposed to turn off the four outlets for lamps in the living room separately? Maybe it is a screw up, guy flips the switch to test it and the power goes off just like they're supposed to...not realizing b/c of the circuit breaker tripping. Need to see how the neighbor's work.
Troubleshooting #3 eye exam this morning, 20/30 good enough for license renewal in April for another 7 years.
OK, that was boring, but it's January, it's cold, time to get stuff done for the rest of the year.
